The exact origins of Jorge's name are lost in the mists of time, but certainly s/he was named by the students, though the "why" is anyone's guess. Jorge has also been known by other names over the years - King Gary, George, and Big Ugly among them - but Jorge is the one that has truly stuck so that's what LITS uses.
